POSITION SUMMARY

Nutritional Counseling series consist of the assessment and evaluation of the patient’s nutritional status and any recommendations for alterations in dietary regimens based upon the prescribing practitioner’s prescribed diet. The dietician/nutritionist can either provide direct nutritional counseling to patients or provide consultation and direction to the nurse. This service is provided to individuals who have acute condition or changes in their health status that requires education in their dietary regimen to control or management of complications related to their medical conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelors Degree with a major in Foods and Nutrition from a college or university approved by the Department of Education; and
